WPC – The Real Alternative to Natural Wood

Natural Wood or it’s appearance is a popular aesthetic of choice for exteriors and increasingly being featured in conventional architecture of various residential and commercial buildings. This has led to a spurt in the wood or related wood appearance products market. But do all these products have the genuine capability to replace natural wood?
Wood Composites are the trend today as designers and construction professionals look for the real alternative for natural wood. For primary reasons of the attractive wood appearance and particularly being environmentally friendly, WPC presents true wood characteristics in comparison to other look alike materials. Up to nearly 60% of the raw materials of wood composites are wood powder, giving it the near real appearance of natural wood.
Being a composite product that is extruded from a paste form, WPC is versatile and can be shaped or molded for a variety of uses making it suitable for multiple applications. Hollow, lightweight profiles replacelarge wood sections and easily installed. From a characteristics standpoint, WPC is weatherproof and highly durable in exterior applications without anyspecific maintenance with oils, varnishes, paints, drilling, brushing, sanding or staining.
Additionally WPC replaces wood in it’s traditional applications of outdoor and poolside decking, exterior wall panelling and siding, façade cladding, garden or terrace pergolas and other such outdoor uses. Most recently, WPC has been an alternative for pre-fab building, houses, roofing, fences, handrails, louvers and a lot more. WPC products have turned into those of great interest in the construction sector both for exterior and interior use and fast replacing applications that traditionally use huge amounts of natural timbers which is a strain on natural resources. Good reasons for WPC being considered the realalternative to natural wood.
